The Game
What you need to play
- 1 pack of The Ultimate Drinking Game playing cards.
- 1 empty glass, preferably pint size.
- 1 flat surface big enough to spread out the cards in a circle.
- A glass for each player, best if all glasses are same size and shape and clear so everyone knows you are playing fairly.
- Enough drink to sink a moderate sized ship.
How to Play
- Spread the cards out face down in a circle.
- Place the pint glass in the middle of the circle and leave a space beside the glass for the Game Over cards.
- Decide who is going to go first and which direction you will be choosing your cards in.
- Whoever picks a card has control of that particular game/challenge meaning they start the game and if stated decide which direction the game is played in. Also this player chooses who the winner/loser is for that particular card.
Freeze Master |
This is a ‘Keep Card’ meaning that it can be played at any time during the game. Hold out the card, face up and freeze. The last person to freeze in the same position as you has to drink an agreed amount of drink as decided by you. i.e. four sips or all of it. |
Back At Ya! |
This is also a ‘Keep Card’ and can be played at any time to reverse an instruction from another player. I.e. “four sips”, “back at ya!” |
Waterfall |
All players stand, on the word go, everyone starts drinking at the same time. The person who chose the card can stop drinking at any time; only when that person has stopped drinking, can the person to their left stop drinking, and so on. |
Twenty One |
Starting with the player who chose the card and with the number 1, players can either say one, two or three numbers in order. The player who has to say 21 has to drink an agreed amount of their drink as decided by you. Saying one number moves the play one person to your left. Two numbers changes the direction and three numbers skips a player in which ever direction you are heading. |
Toilet Card |
‘Keep Card’ No player can leave the game for any reason without doing an agreed forfeit. This especially applies to going to the toilet during play; Unless of course you have a toilet card. This entitles the holder to one toilet break. |
Thumb Master |
‘Keep Card’ Any player holding the most recent Thumb master card can, at any time, place their thumb on the playing surface. The player does not have to announce this and it is up to everyone else to follow. The last person to put their thumb on the playing surface and keep it there has to do an agreed forfeit. The card can be used as many times as the current Thumb Master wishes. |
The Name Game |
Think of a well known celebrity and say the name out loud. The person to your left must then start drinking. They can only stop when they say another celebrity name beginning with the last initial of the previous celebrity. i.e. “Joe Bloggs” ,“Barry Smith” ,“Simon Jones” etc. If however the next celebrity has the same initials, i.e. “John Jones” then the play is reversed. You must continue drinking until you can say a name out loud. If any names from any round of ‘Name Game’ are repeated the current ‘Name Game’ is over. That player must do an agreed forfeit. |
Make A Rule |
This card entitles the holder to make up a new rule for the game which everyone in the group has to comply with. Some suggested rules include, no pointing, not being allowed to say a certain word such as ‘you’or having to insult or compliment someone every time you speak to them. Remember, be inventive but be reasonable. Not playing by the rules means a forfeit. |

This game is designed to be adaptable depending on who is playing, so it’s up to you how you use it. Whether you are playing with family at Christmas or hardend drinkers down the pub, you can replace sips with fingers or make penalties for losing games as mild or severe as you like, the choice is yours.
